OSVALDS ZVEJSALNIEKS

Born in 1944. Professional training – Latvian Academy of Arts, Art Education Department (1963 – 1971). Master of Fine Arts.
Has been contributing to exhibitions since 1971. Member of Latvian Artists' Union since 1976. Member of Association "B – 13" since 1993.
Has had more than twenty solo shows in Riga and other cities of Latvia. Has participated regularly in group exhibitions in Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Germany, Japan.
His works are to be found in several museums at home and abroad, as well as in private collections.
Currently professor at the Latvian Academy of Arts and Head of the Latgale section of the Artists' Union.

"Painting, as I see it, is an emotionally saturated colour. It is this emotionally charged colour that is the only sign of good painting."
