INDULIS ZARINS

Born in 1929.,died in 1997. Professional training – Janis Rozentals Art School Riga (1947 – 1952), Latvian Academy of Arts, Painting Department (1952 – 1958) – under the supervision of prof. E. Kalnins.
Has been contributing to exhibitions since 1956. Member of Latvian Artists' Union since 1960. Since 1993 Member of Association "B 13", its founder and first president.
Has had more than twenty solo shows in different countries of the world. Has participated regularly in group exhibitions, which number nearly three hundred. His works have been exhibited in Italy, Russia, Germany, France, England, Israel, Sweden, Japan, Poland, LISA and elsewhere.
His works are to be found in all major museums in Latvia and Russia, as well as in Ufici Gallery in Florence and in many private collections throughout the world.
He has been awarded many medals, prizes and certificates of merit, his name is included in the lists of honorary members of Arts and Russian Academy of Art and Royal British Association.
Was professor at the Latvian Academy of Arts, supervisor of a Master Studio, Rector of the Academy (since 1987).
