AIJA JURJANE

Born in 1944, died in 2015. Professional training: Janis Rozentals Art School of Riga (1955 - 1962), Painting Department of the Latvian Academy of Arts (1963 - 1968) under the supervision of professor E. Kalnins. Master of Fine Arts.
Contributor to exhibitions since 1969. A member of the Artists' Union of Latvia as of 1973. A member of the B - 13 Association (1993 - 1998) since 1993.
She has had personal exhibitions in Riga in 1984 and Paris in 1993. And has participated in many group exhibitions in Riga, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Paris, Berlin, Tallinn, Warsaw, Bucharest, Sofia, Minsk, Helsinki and Vilnius.
Her works are to be found in the collections of the State Art Museum and Artists' Union of Latvia, Ministry of Culture of Russia, as well as in many private collections in France, Holland, Russia, Latvia, Germany, the United States, and Australia.
Currently she is teaching at Janis Rozentals Art School of Riga.
